The Catalan Industrial Doctorate Program: Ten Years of Industry-Academy Collaborative Research (AGAUR - Generalitat de Catalunya)
In 2012, the Catalan Government launched a pilot initiative to favor the relationship between the Industry and the Academy in the field of research. Ten years after this is a consolidated programme which has become a relevant tool for building bridges between both sectors to foster collaborative research and improving competitiveness and innovation in all the industrial sectors.
This presentation will provide some insights on the main elements of the programme, how it works, its figures and facts, and what the outcomes have been.
Albert SangrĂ is Director of the Industrial Doctorate Program of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government). In addition, he is the Director of the UNESCO Chair in Education and Technology for Social Change at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), where he is a researcher and full professor. He is a member of the founding team of the UOC. Ph.D. in Education, his main area of research is the relation between education and technology, with a special focus on online and blended teaching and learning. He has participated in many international research projects and has published more than 100 academics articles and books. He has been awarded the 2015 Award for Excellence in e-Learning by the World Education Congress, and has also been recognized as an EDEN Senior Fellow for the European Distance and E-Learning Network.
