We – as MaibornWolff – understand Digital Design as an umbrella profession and as an extension of Requirements Engineering. As an IT service provider and IT consulting company (with about 900 employees) working for well-known customers such as BMW, Daimler, Miele, Deutsche Bahn, DER Touristik and many more, requirements engineering is a central part of our project business. However, the digital transformation and the arrival of a multitude of new technologies posed a challenge to us: requirements engineering alone was no longer enough - we had to put our design activities in the early phases of IT projects on a new basis.

In our presentation we will show how digital design has become a success factor in our daily project work over the last 3 years. Profound knowledge of the digital material and the attitude as a “bridge builder between the worlds of business and IT” enrich our work in the field of requirements engineering and UX design.

Our digital designers shape - in interaction with our customers - digital solutions from the rough vision to the “ready-to-code”-modeling. In doing so, they are guided by our “Three Horizons model”.

We support our clients in setting up modern digital design methods. Our clients embrace the Digital Design Profession with enthusiasm. This even leads to the fact that our customers now train or employ digital designers in their own organizations. We will report on success factors and resistances that we experience with our customers from industry.
